We finally arrived at FOB Ghazni, Afghanistan! This is an interesting place. The CH-47 Chinook ride was a blast. Here are a couple of pictures of the ride. I had a good seat. There is no airfield on this FOB, so the only way in or out is by helo or by road. Ghazni is about 7500 foot altitude with mountains on both sides. I will post more pictures soon. The compound we live in is an old Taliban training complex. The FST (Forward Surgical Team) is located in a building of the same construction as the one we are living. It is good to finally be here and get to do my job.
